La. Sen. Hewitt to highlight STEM luncheon

Chamber to host its second annual Education & Innovation Luncheon
You don’t want to miss the second annual Education & Innovation Luncheon for the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. La. Sen. Sharon Hewitt, a former engineering executive at Shell, will highlight the 2017 event, which focuses on Women in STEM and be held at Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport-Bossier City. Bossier Parish Community College is the top sponsor for this event.
Sen. Hewitt is the author of Senate Bill 225, which creates the Louisiana Science, Technology, Enginery and Math Advisory Council under the purview of the Board of Regents.
At this luncheon, the Bossier Innovates Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of the Bossier Chamber, will award scholarships to high school girls who have identified an interest in majoring in STEM-related subjects.
