State of Bossier Address

The Mayor of the City of Bossier City and the President of the
Bossier Parish Police Jury will present the Annual State of the City and Parish Address to the community. Our leaders will use this opportunity to highlight the progress in economic development and present an “annual report” to the citizens of Bossier City/Parish regarding the accomplishments of the past year and an outlook for the year ahead.

Bossier City Mayor “Lo” Walker and Bossier Parish Police Jury President Bob Brotherton will be joined at the Address by Harold Christensen, professor of economics and director of the Center for Economics Education at Centenary College. Christenson, who is the current holder of both the William E. Steger Endowed Chair of Entrepreneurship and the Edwin Charles Harbuck Board of Regents Endowed Professorship in Economics, will give “An Optimist’s Look at the Economy.”

Christensen has researched interests in the economic history of railroads, energy economics, sports economics and the economics of higher education. He consults in financial, forensic, and energy economics. His areas of expertise include interest rates, network economics, fleet utilization and business valuations. He is a Certified Treasury Professional and a member of the Association of Treasury Professionals.

Christensen also has been published in The Journal of Economics, The Southwestern Economic Review, The Atlantic Economic Journal, The Western Social Science Journal and The Journal of Sports Economics (pending) and has lectured at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
