Chamber President completes fourth year at CDI

Advanced Year focuses on community development

Congratulations to Bossier Chamber President Lisa Johnson on completing the Advanced Year of Community Development Institute at the University of Central Arkansas. CDI began in 1987 with the goal of equipping community leaders and economic development professionals with the tools and strategies they needed to create vibrant, successful communities. Ms. Johnson graduated from the institute in 2016 with honors; but chose to return in 2017 for the Advanced Year.
The Advanced Year class is given the opportunity to deploy to a local community and begin the community development process. The class included six professionals, with three of those six serving as Mayor of their respective cities and towns. This year the class participated in a community assessment for Alma, Arkansas, entitled “Jump Start Alma”.
