BOSSIER CITY - President/CEO Lisa Johnson has reached another milestone - 20 years at the helm of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
Lisa was hired to lead the Chamber in June 2024 and has grown the Chamber’s membership, community presence, advocacy efforts and military relations to advance the Bossier Chamber’s influence in our region and across the state.
“When we were looking to find a new executive director (in 2004), the Bossier Chamber Board of Directors wanted to have someone who recognized the great assets in Bossier -- our military community, strong education, prolific public safety organizations and friendly small business climate -- and someone who loved Bossier and Lisa was the perfect choice,” said Judge Jeff Thompson, former Bossier Chamber Chairman of the Board.
Under her tenure, the Bossier Chamber has earned its 4-star and 5-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber, an elite feat which only 3 percent of Chambers earn. Additionally the Bossier Chamber has earned its Louisiana Chamber accreditation, won Louisiana Chamber of the Year twice and has been named a Military Friendly Chamber by Ventrepreneur Magazine.
“Lisa’s leadership is known regionwide and statewide as a connector of people and opportunities,” said Jonathan Reynolds, current Bossier Chamber Chairman of the Board. “When you talk about the Bossier Chamber within this community, region and state, business leaders know that you’re talking about a Chamber that is a leader, that gets things done and that advocates for our military and our business community. That reputation is because of the leadership of Lisa Johnson.”
As President, Lisa leads a staff team that focuses on government relations, military relations, business development and community development while creating opportunity for business leaders to engage with their community in meaningful ways.
“I am honored to have been at the Bossier Chamber for 20 years,” said Johnson. “What I have enjoyed the absolute most about this job is building relationships with the community at every level.
“Another thing I have enjoyed is the mentoring I have been able to do with other women. To be able to help young women as they come through the office, as an employee or someone seeking advice, that has been a blessing that no one can take away,” Johnson added.
