BOSSIER CITY - The Bossier Chamber of Commerce is hosting Governor Jeff Landry for his first visit to Bossier Parish since being elected Louisiana’s 57th governor.

The event will be held August 20, 2024, starting at 11:30 a.m., at the Bossier Civic Center.

During this State of the State Address, the governor will outline his key agenda items and initiatives for shaping Louisiana’s economic, social and infrastrutural landscape. Attendees will gain firsthand insights into Governor Landry’s achievements during the two special and one regular session this year as well as what is on the horizon for the state.

“We think it is important to bring our state elected officials to Northwest Louisiana to speak directly to our business community,” said Lisa Johnson, President/CEO of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. “In order for Louisiana to prosper, all of Louisiana must be taken into account. The best way to make sure our needs in the northern part of the state are heard is to bring these officials here to see our businesses, our towns, our cities, our successes and our potential.”

This State of the State Address is a part of the Bossier Chamber’s fall Public Policy Series, featuring key officials who will talk about changes - and proposed or upcoming changes - that will affect you as an employer, employee and resident of Louisiana. Most of the speakers in this series are at the state level, with a bonus event with U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, M.D.

Here is the full list of events for our Public Policy Series:

  • August 20 – State of the State Luncheon with Governor Jeff Landry
  • August 27 – Breakfast with U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, M.D.
  • October 17 – Luncheon with Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple
  • October 22 – Breakfast with Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley

“It is no secret that Louisiana has seen an outmigration of residents while other Southern states are growing in population. That’s why we think it is of the utmost importance to bring leaders like the governor and the insurance commissioner to town so that changes - and proposed changes - in policy can be relayed directly to those it will affect most - YOU!” said Jonathan Reynolds, Chairman of the Board, Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
