SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. SCORE was authorized by Congress in 1964 as resource of the US Small Business Administration. SCORE Volunteers provide confidential free expert counseling, advice and business oriented workshops to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to promote their growth and success
“As businesses form and begin their path to success, we hope the Bossier Chamber will be one of their first investments as the Chamber offers many benefits these new businesses can take advantage of, free of charge, to promote their business,” said Lisa Johnson, Bossier Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “But even before they open their doors, we want to provide as much support as possible to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and a partnership with SCORE does just that.”
“The Bossier/Shreveport region has a lot of pent-up entrepreneurial energy and SCORE can assist those individuals towards their business success,” said SCORE’s Len Sedlin. “The Bossier Chamber is establishing a Cooperative Agreement with Northwest Louisiana SCORE Chapter #0279 in order to more efficiently and effectively provide these business counseling and educational services to the region’s business community.”
Emerging small businesses and persons with business development plans are encouraged to call the Chamber office at 318.746.0252 to schedule a meeting with a SCORE volunteer to assist in further development of business plans, reviewing necessary documentation for startup businesses and to provide experienced counseling for new business issues.
